Job summary

Maxim Crane Works LP in Beaumont, TX is seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic with crane experience to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on crane systems, engines, hydraulics and electrical subsystems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing defects, reading blueprints, fabricating parts, and testing equipment to OEM specs. CDL required; 5+ years of relevant experience. Must pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty screening. On-site role with heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; associates degree preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical experience; crane-related experience required.
• 3+ years experience with diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.
• Advanced ability to read blueprints and interpret instructions.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty test.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brakes and other basic components.
• Operate hoists, forklifts, and/or hand trucks to handle, dismantle and reassemble heavy material and equipment.
• Diagnose defects, faults, or malfunctions and determine required repairs.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and OEM specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Fabricate, modify, and install replacement parts using specialty tools.
• Examine parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on vehicles and equipment.
