Position: Heavy Equipment Operator / Crane

Responsible for operating stationary or traveling cranes to lift, move, and position loads. Duties include ensuring loads are safely attached, erecting structures, and moving equipment within industrial sites. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate crane under supervision.
• Control crane movements based on instructions or signals.
• Perform crane repairs as needed.
• Inspect crane daily for safety issues.
• Maintain and lubricate equipment.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including job tickets and service summaries.
• Lift and position machinery and large objects.
• Set blocks and outriggers for heavy lifts.
• Operate controls to rotate and extend the crane boom.
• Work within precise safety and operational standards.
• Identify and avoid hazards such as utility lines and obstructions.
• Operate crane based on signals from riggers.
• Start and operate engine controls.
• Maintain NCCCO certifications to comply with regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, handle, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• Education: No minimum requirement.
• Experience: 3-5 years operating equipment in industrial settings.
• Certifications: NCCCO TSS/TLL or NCCER LG/SM, valid driver’s license, TWIC card.
