Heavy Equipment Operator / Crane

Responsible for operating stationary or traveling cranes to lift, move, and position loads. Ensures loads are safely attached before lifting and performs erection of structures, moving products, equipment, or materials within industrial settings. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate crane under supervision.
• Control crane movements using cane controls based on instructions or signals.
• Perform crane repairs as needed.
• Inspect crane daily for safety issues and malfunctions.
• Maintain and lubricate equipment.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including job tickets and service summaries.
• Lift, position, and place machinery or large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
• Use blocks and outriggers to stabilize loads.
• Operate crane controls to rotate, raise, or lower the boom and load-line.
• Bolt boom sections for extension or modification.
• Work within precise standards and safety limits.
• Take precautions to avoid hazards such as utility lines and falling objects.
• Operate crane signals from riggers.
• Start and operate crane machinery.
• Maintain NCCCO certifications to comply with regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, handle, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required.
• 3-5 years of industrial equipment operation experience.
• Certifications: NCCCO TSS/TLL or NCCER LG/SM cranes, valid Driver's License, TWIC Card.
