Job summary

ENS in Irvine, CA is seeking an entry to mid-level crane operator to inspect, receive and unload scrap metal from railroad cars and trucks. You will perform material handling tasks and assist with maintenance and relining of the arc furnace, with cross-training to back up the Electric Arc Furnace Operator.

Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED and the ability to read procedures and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret procedures, policies and other written forms of communication.
• Ability to apply basic math including fractions, percentages and units of weight measure.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner with internal and external customers.
• Crane operation experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb and bend. The employee is regularly required to use hand and fingers to handle objects and controls and reach with arms and hands. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in extreme weather, is frequently exposed to airborne particles and occasionally exposed to fumes. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
