Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD in Mesa, AZ is seeking a hands-on operator to support furnace scrap feeding using a cab-operated overhead crane. You will engage in safety programs, load scrap per heat requirements, and communicate production needs across shifts.

The role requires a strong work ethic, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility for rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends is expected in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Rotating shifts, weekends/holidays may be required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attend safety programs and uphold safety culture.
• Able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Load scrap to meet furnace requirements and prevent conveyor damage.
• Understand crane hand signals and communications.
• Communicate production issues clearly to teammates.
• Complete equipment inspection reports each shift.
• Suggest improvements in methods and procedures for daily work.
• Maintain daily housekeeping in work areas.
• Troubleshoot problems using job knowledge and team input.
• Understand start up, shutdown and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
