Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a skilled team member to support furnace scrap supply via overhead crane, with safety-first mindset and collaborative communication. This role offers hands-on exposure to steel production operations and room to grow within a Fortune 500 company.

You will operate in a fast-paced environment, participate in safety programs, and contribute to continuous improvement. CMC values training, advancement opportunities, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills
• Dependability in attendance and work completion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
• Load scrap in accordance with heat requirements and conveyor loading procedures to meet furnace needs.
• Understand crane hand signals and communications.
• Communicate production issues, concerns, and needs clearly to others.
• Ensure daily inspection reports are completed each shift.
• Engage in continuous improvement and propose method improvements.
• Perform daily housekeeping in the work area.
• Troubleshoot problems using knowledge and team input.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
