Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging Inc. in Atlanta, GA is hiring a full-time Crane Operator to support daily lifting operations at the branch.

You will read load charts, set up cranes, communicate with signal persons, inspect equipment, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance during lifts. The ideal candidate has a valid CDL, NCCCO crane operator license, and at least 3 years of experience operating hydraulic cranes.

Qualifications

CDL license required.
NCCCO crane operator license required.
3+ years of operating hydraulic cranes.

Responsibilities

Review next day job assignments and ensure necessary rigging and equipment are ready.
Complete Field Ticket and submit to branch office; note any chargeable equipment.
Maintain payroll hours and report by 10:00 a.m. Monday.
On off-job days, inspect, clean, and maintain equipment; stay productive.
Answer phones/pagers promptly and assist in crane operation training.
Review crane operation manuals and service guides periodically.
Inspect and organize equipment; keep shop and yard clean.
Read and interpret load charts; calculate load percentages.
Program crane control and set up crane location safely.
Ensure signal person understands hand signals before lifting loads.
Apply proper rigging techniques for safe lifts.
Inspect crane/truck/trailer and complete vehicle inspection reports.
