Position Summary

Operate and maintain heavy, motorized crane equipment used in remediation operations in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate heavy, motorized crane equipment used in remediation operations to support a variety of heavy earthworks operations.
2. Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
3. Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training materials, MSDS, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedure manuals.
4. Follow all safety guidelines, protocols, and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct pre-operational inspections of cranes.
5. Safely lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, and machinery. Determine load capacities and rigging requirements.
6. Maintain clear communication with team members, including signalers or riggers, during lifting operations.
7. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of cranes; report malfunctions or defects.
8. Keep accurate records and logbooks related to crane operations, maintenance, and incidents.
9. Travel and work extended hours as needed.
10. Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• At least two years of crane operation/maintenance experience. Clamshell and/or Chisel experience is a plus.
• CCO Mobile Crane Operator Certification for Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes (LBC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Safety training such as 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, First Aid, and CPR. Additional training provided by the company.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking, climbing in/out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work conditions may include exposure to machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and weather. PPE such as eyewear, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are required. Effective communication and safety adherence are essential.
