100Hires, Inc. is seeking a Crane Operator to safely operate mobile cranes on client sites in New York. You will assess load weights, inspect ground conditions, and ensure clearances and safety guidelines are followed.

The role is field-based with travel to job sites within driving distance. Candidates should hold NCCCO certification, a Class A CDL, and a valid DOT medical card, and have 2+ years of crane operation experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years crane operating experience preferred.
  • Must possess NCCCO certification, CDL, and DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

  • Operates mobile cranes (telescope booms, lattice booms, hydraulic cranes) safely.
  • Calculates load capacity and weight of items per manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspects surroundings, ground conditions, and obstructions for safe setup.
  • Maintains operation logs and reports expenses as needed.
  • Complies with safety laws and company guidelines.

Job description

Purpose:The Crane Operator will safely operate mobile cranes to transfer heavy objects from one location to another.Duties and Responsibilities:• Operates specialized machinery such as telescope booms, lattice booms, and hydraulic cranes• Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturers specifications• Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there are no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment• Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely• Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance• Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices• Maintains logs and records of operation activities• Maintains accurate reporting of all expenses and receipts associated with the daily use of company credit cards and fuel cards.• Performs other duties as assigned or requiredRequirements:Education:• High School diploma or GED• Certification by the North American Crane Bureau Group or the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators requiredExperience:• 2+ years’ of previous crane operating experienceSkills/Knowledge:• Advanced mechanical knowledge• Moderate verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records• Moderate oral and written communication skills• Advanced knowledge of safety procedures and practices• Pass drug and background check• Valid NCCCO• Class A CDL• DOT Physical Examination (Medical card)Language Skills:Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence.
