Arcosa Marine is searching for a Safety-Oriented Crane Operator at our Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant. Our Crane Operators work for a company that prioritizes employees and offers excellent benefits. As a Crane Operator at Arcosa Marine, you’ll operate electrically-powered, diesel, or rubber-tire cranes with operator’s cabs and moveable hoist mechanisms mounted on bridges to lift, move, and position loads such as machinery, equipment, products, and bulk materials using hoisting attachments.

Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. We produce dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges for products like grain, coal, and aggregates, as well as tank barges for petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquids. We are the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, we supply deck hardware, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What you’ll do:

• Operate mobile cranes, gantry, bridge, or whirly cranes with a lifting capacity greater than 35 tons
• Operate cab-operated overhead cranes
• Operate steel yard overhead cranes
• Move and lift loads exceeding 20 tons
• Perform rigging for gantry cranes as needed
• Conduct daily inspections, perform maintenance, and ensure safe operation of assigned cranes
• Secure cranes properly (tied-off) at the end of each shift
• Support other departments and machine operators as needed
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Participate in safety committees or initiatives if involved
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Crane Operator
• Ability to move and lift more than 20 tons
• Ability to read and write to complete standard records
• Knowledge of operating controls, rigging principles, hand signals, and safe lifting procedures
• Completion of crane operator training and certification provided by the Safety Department
• Ability to operate cranes and lift loads safely to ensure the safety of all personnel
