Position Summary

Feed mill with logs from wood yard asdesignatedbya woodstorage and use schedule. Unloads incoming log trucks into wood storage.

• Operates Portal Crane and other mobile equipmentand performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Notifies Maintenance Department and/or shift supervisor of operating deficiencies noted during inspections and/or operations.
• Unloads log trucks and places into wood storage inventory as directed by scalers.
• Builds stacks that are uniform and neat.
• Keep stray logs picked up and clear of both sets of rails.
• Removes logs from wood storage and places on in feed decks.
• Assistsin keeping logs straight on in feed decks.
• Maintains communication with wood scaler
• Adheres to wood storage and wood rotationschedule.
• Ensures safety of log truck drivers by monitoring position of trucks and location and activities of truck drivers and providing verbal instructions as needed via radio.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintains operations by reading, interpreting, and applying complex written instructions in the form of Standard Operating procedures and other written instructions.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

High School Diploma or GED

0 to 3 Years Manufacturing Experience.

0 to 3 Years crane operator experience preferred

Performs general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving wholebodyand multilimbed coordination.

Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays per shift schedule
