Job summary

Staab Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced crane operator to join our team. The role primarily operates crane but may operate other large equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and other machinery as needed for commercial and heavy construction.

Must have 3 years experience crane operating and NCCCO certifications. Ideal candidates adhere to company safety standards and take pride in their work.

Qualifications

• Must have three years of crane operating experience or completion of an apprentice program.
• Must have NCCCO certifications.
• Ability to travel up to 300 miles and stay overnight 3–4 days per week is required.
• Knowledge of or experience with wastewater or water treatment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely and proficiently operate all heavy equipment.
• Performs operator maintenance on all heavy equipment on the job site.
• Oversees rigging and ensures safe lifting procedures.
• Layout and complete excavations for structures and pipe trenches at depths up to 40’
• Installs earth retention and dewatering systems.
• Assists in installation of batter boards, setting lines, grades, offsets, and elevations.
• Establish and transfer benchmarks.
• Rigging and signaling (crane/excavator communications).
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Perform other construction duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Required at time of Application

Must have three years experience operating crane or apprentice program graduate or other equivalent education experience. Must have NCCCO certifications. Ability to occasionally lift 100#, climb and work at 30’ heights, ability to travel up to 300 miles and stay overnight 3-4 days per week. Knowledge of or working with wastewater or water treatment is a plus.
