Job Title: Crane Operator
The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of computerized mobile cranes.
Principal Accountabilities
- Operate mobile crane and move materials to various locations safely and effectively.
- Inspect, rig, and ensure rigging applications are configured according to load charts and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and perform operator-level maintenance on equipment following standards.
- Interact closely with customers for movement of materials and equipment.
- Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and storage.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Fluent in English for understanding load charts, safety topics, and preparing written orders.
Experience & Education
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable crane operation experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver’s license.
- Equipment Operator training and certification from NCCCO for Telescopic Boom—Swing Cab (TLL), Telescopic Boom Cranes—Fixed Cab (TSS).
- Ability to obtain certification to operate computerized mobile cranes up to 100 tons.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, and work safely around equipment and materials.
- Work may occur in remote and uncomfortable conditions.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
