Job summary

Specializing in capital and maintenance dredging, environmental remediation, and beach nourishment, we are dedicated to delivering superior service in the marine contracting industry.

We are actively seeking a qualified Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in Ledyard, CT. This position plays a crucial role in our operations, requiring a skilled individual capable of operating our barge-mounted cranes, and other essential equipment.

The primary work location is in Ledyard, CT.

Responsibilities
  • Operate cranes and heavy machinery with precision and efficiency to meet project requirement.
  • Perform pre-operational checks and inspections on cranes, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Monitor crane operations to promptly detect and address any potential safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to plan and execute crane lifting activities safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to rigging and signaling procedures during crane operations, maintaining clear communication with ground personnel.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and regulations.
  • Assist in the setup and assembly of cranes on job sites, following manufacturer guidelines and engineering drawings.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents or accidents for reporting purposes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior crane operators and crew members, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
Position Requirements
  • 4-5 years of experience in crane operation.
  • Mandatory possession of CT crane certification and a Certified Crane Operator (CCO) certification.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Good physical condition to work in various weather conditions.
  • Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and writing).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary Range: $45-60 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Flexibility is key. The position requires a 40-hour work week with occasional night and weekend work to meet project demands.
