Job description

Summary: A dozer operator drives a bulldozer at construction sites or during other types of industrial operations. In this job, your duties include moving soil, rocks, and debris and leveling the ground. You control the tractor and also operate the shovel or blade on the front of the vehicle.

Job Duties:

1. Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on machines, using grease gun, oil cans, and hand tools.
2. Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment.
3. Grades house pads to the 10th.
4. Moves hand and foot levers to control hydraulic shovel.
5. Drives equipment in successive passes over the working area to achieve the specified result, such as grading terrain or removing dump, or spreading earth and rock.
6. Moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver equipment and raise, lower, and tilt attachments to clear the right-of-way.
7. Uses shovel to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width, removes loosened material, and transports it or puts it in piles.
8. Fastens attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.
9. Starts engine, adjusts throttle, switches, and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines, equipment, and attachments.
10. Feels lever and listens for engine stalling to estimate depth of cut.
11. Performs routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
12. Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to the specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
13. Moves levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks.
14. Operates machinery while adhering to all safety standards at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Valid driver's license required.
2. Drug test mandatory as a condition of employment.
3. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
4. Willing and able to work outdoors all day long, 8 to 10 hours at a time.
5. Availability to work some weekends.
6. Willing to perform strenuous, consistent physical activity throughout the day.
7. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and bend/stoop, push/pull.
8. Experience required, prior beach work knowledge.
9. Must be certified.
