Job summary

Amentum seeks a Crane Maintenance Technician III to join our 2nd shift Industrial Maintenance team in Davenport, IA. Typical hours: Sunday–Wednesday, 10-hour shifts; overtime and hours may vary based on customer demand.

You will troubleshoot and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes and hoists, follow safety procedures, and work at heights up to 30 feet while traveling to nearby sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years troubleshooting cranes/hoists OR 1 year mechanical experience with industrial maintenance.
• Crane certification not required to start; ability to obtain with company assistance.
• Able to work at heights up to 30 feet or higher on aerial/scissor lifts.
• Valid driver's license; US work authorized without sponsorship.
• Willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; capable of physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes and hoists.
• Follow safety guidelines, perform risk assessments, and use PPE as required.
• Identify safety issues and conduct equipment evaluations for potential failures.
• Perform general maintenance of equipment in an industrial environment.
• Work at heights 6–30 ft and travel to nearby sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responds to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility hoists, cranes and other mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Identifies and corrects any safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
• Performs general Maintenance of equipment.
• Works in environments 6 to 30 ft above ground.
• Travels to other sites when required (in the local Moline, Davenport, or QC area).

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• 3 years of experience troubleshooting cranes and hoists OR 1 year of mechanical experience along with a tech school Industrial maintenance or related facility maintenance discipline.
• Crane certification isn't required to start but you must be able to obtain - we will help you become certified.
• Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
• Training will be supplied.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must be willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
• Must be able to lift or carrying up to 50 lbs.; stand and/or walk for prolonged/extensive amounts of time; can use a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level; work in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions; can push, pull, or lift heavy equipment, supplies, or parts.

Physical Requirements

• Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
• Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
• Requires the ability to regularly move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
• Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
• Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
