Job summary

Port Houston seeks an experienced Manager, Port Cranes to lead the electromechanical maintenance and repair of STS and RTG cranes, ensuring adherence to preventive maintenance and safety standards. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance crane reliability and efficiency.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, strong technical knowledge of crane systems, and a track record of managing multiple crane projects in a large port environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or related field with leadership focus preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive STS/RTG crane and spreader repair experience and electrical/electronic/mechanical knowledge.
• 10+ years of general supervisory experience in crane maintenance in ports or related facilities.
• Experience budgeting and managing P&L; leadership certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a large team of craftsmen in crane maintenance and repair.
• Ensure compliance with Port Houston policies and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to improve crane reliability and performance.
• Prepare documentation for Port Commission or staff approval on crane projects.
• Oversee environmental and safety compliance in all crane operations.
• Lead continuous improvement by analyzing performance data and trends.
• Participate in annual budget preparation and cost analysis.
• Act as crane operations liaison across departments; cover for Director Port Cranes when absent.
