Job summary

Central Rent-A-Crane in Hammond, IN is hiring a Dispatch & Logistics Associate to provide administrative support to Dispatch and Logistics at the branch. This full-time, non-exempt role offers a comprehensive benefits package in a casual office.

Responsibilities include maintaining records and logs, ensuring on-time crane deliveries, managing safety and regulatory files, securing permits and escorts, and supporting the branch with clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in trucking and dispatch functions.
• Knowledge of the permitting process for oversize loads.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed.
• Able to sit for long periods and use phone/computer.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records, logs, and schedules for calls and equipment you monitor.
• Ensure on-time delivery of cranes and support equipment to job sites.
• Maintain compliant safety, DOT/FMCSA, and insurance files.
• Secure permits, escorts, and flagmen as needed.
• Ensure drivers comply with HOS and safety regulations.
• Monitor routes and field unit status to coordinate schedules.
• Assist with IRP Apportion tags / IFTA and other clerical duties.
• Support Branch Manager with miscellaneous tasks.
