Job Description

The Craft Training Coordinator will have strong journey level skills, supporting the Talent Development team with curriculum enhancement, facilitation of craft and leadership materials, and acting as a liaison between project craft professionals and Talent Development to address training deficiencies. The individual must have decision-making skills that enable planning and performing highly complex or technical work where no procedures or standard methods are available. This position may include, but is not limited to, the following functions:

  • Support after-hours welding instructors by developing appropriate welding curriculum, identifying and ordering equipment, and maintaining inventory of materials and supplies.
  • Facilitate Talent Development programs in both English and Spanish, including Craft, Equipment, Frontline Supervisor, Leadership, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Ensure the safety of all training participants throughout training, demonstrations, practice, and performance verifications. Participate in the MPW process and lead shop, tool, material, and equipment inspections.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency in training processes and procedures by recording and auditing various aspects of the project's craft training programs, including records, documents, processes, and personnel.
  • Create, coordinate, and facilitate new bilingual training and development opportunities to address quality, safety, and production deficiencies among craft personnel.
  • Perform scheduled collaboration with SADC students and their foremen; record key items in the student tracker for proactive engagement regarding issues or concerns.
Job Requirements

Education: Formal OJT or Apprentice Program required. Verified journey-level craft experience is necessary. An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.

Experience: Over 3 to 5 years’ experience, which can be cumulative over multiple journey-level crafts.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and good communication skills are needed.

Required Skills:

  • Onboarding new hires for Zachry TEAM, including training on MOC, GMP, and Asset Integrity
  • Procedure training for all teams (Lab, Maint, PLS)
  • Ensure DOT training for chemical loaders and manifestos is current
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Attention to detail, time management, organization, leadership, facilitation skills

Required Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office and other specified programs
  • Conduct meetings, present, report
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Update Matix for Zachry (auditing purposes)
  • 8-hour HAZWOPER training

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Industrial construction experience
  • Knowledge of industrial construction training curriculum
  • Previous training experience

Additional notes: NO PER DIEM, must pass background check, drug and alcohol tests, and have a valid driver’s license.
