Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Divisional Craft Trainer - Concrete to support the Director of Craft Training with internal programs and external partnerships with Registered Apprentice Programs.

This role advances nationwide apprenticeship development and includes travel as needed. The successful candidate will mentor apprentices and craft professionals, deliver diverse training formats, and help grow the training team across divisions.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level competency in one or more trades (Carpentry, Concrete, Civil, Pipe, Structural Steel, Survey, Equipment Operation, Mechanical/Millwright).
• Willingness to travel 50-75% to jobsites and regional offices.
• NCCER Craft Instructor certification, or ability to obtain.
• Commitment to a 2-year rotation to qualify internally.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for Training Director for Water Division craft training initiatives.
• Coordinate with craft professionals attending internal training programs and apprentices in external programs.
• Assist in developing craft training classroom and hands-on content.
• Deliver training via in-person, live online, and recorded sessions.
• Develop and implement leadership training for foremen.
• Plan and conduct entry-level craft training covering basics (tools, print reading, construction math, basic rigging, safety).
• Provide advanced training topics for journey-level staff with jobsite coordination and vendor collaboration.
• Mentor and coach craft professionals across levels and support divisional recruiting events.
• Compile reports on career and training activities and participate in divisional meetings.
