Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and deliver memorable events and crafts within our store. You’ll provide friendly customer service, help shoppers, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout experience while maintaining store standards.

You will engage clients of all ages, lead activities, enroll guests in Rewards or Private Label Credit Card programs, and support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS. Lodging and safety are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Experience with children’s events preferred.
• Excellent people skills and friendly demeanor.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Organizational skills and creativity in problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and engaging environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and related activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; manage scheduling and logistics.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events; maintain store cleanliness and safety during setup and teardown.
• Interact respectfully with others; model Michaels values and standards.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.
