Job summary

Sheraton Dallas Hotel by the Galleria in Dallas, TX seeks a Beverages Attendant to deliver friendly, timely guest service at the lounge and bar. You will greet guests, take and process drink orders, and prepare beverages according to recipes while maintaining a clean, well-stocked station.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and POS operations.
• Basic English language writing skills for requisitions and vouchers.
• Manual dexterity for garnish preparation, glassware handling and stock movement.
• Ability to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to remember and promote the menu variety.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment (e.g., coffee maker).
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs repeatedly; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• To serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.
• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders, mix and present drinks per recipes, and manage portion control.
• Maintain bar setup, stock beer, wine, spirits, condiments and supplies based on projections.
• Stock and store fresh garnishes, juices and perishables to ensure quality.
• Handle cash, verify charges, balance cash and secure bank deposits.
• Answer bar phone, take room service orders, input into POS and generate guest checks.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to meet health standards; follow safety procedures.
• Follow company policies, security rules and department emergency procedures.
• Maintain neat appearance and assist other beverage personnel as needed.
