Job summary

Marriott Chicago O'Hare is seeking a bartender to prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while ensuring guest satisfaction and compliance with alcohol service laws.

You will greet guests, take orders, maintain bar cleanliness, manage inventory, and coordinate with servers to ensure timely service. Prior hospitality experience is a plus; certification in beverage service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bartending or hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage preparation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 pounds.
• Responsible Beverage Service certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes and customer preferences.
• Greet customers and take drink and food orders.
• Verify customers' age to ensure compliance with alcohol laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar.
• Restock liquor, beer, wine, and garnishes.
• Process cash and credit card payments accurately.
• Monitor customer alcohol consumption and refuse service when necessary.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff for timely service.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Assist with opening and closing duties including inventory and cash reconciliation.
