Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Craft Carpenter to perform wood and wallboard fixture construction and repair in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles.

Responsibilities include setting up trailers, reading blueprints, building decks and stairs, rough and finish carpentry, and supporting journeymen and foremen on site with precision and safe handling of materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years carpentry experience.
• Trade or technical school certification preferred.
• Ability to work with precision, visualize objects from drawings, and speak/understand English.
• Strong teamwork, customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening.

• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms; assist with shooting grades and elevations.

• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Adhere to project timelines and site-specific erosion control plans.

Job description

Mortenson is currently seeking a Craft Carpenter that will be responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.

Responsibilities

• Set up trailers
• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex’s, silt fences/straw bales, and setup site per erosion control plan
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms
• Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations
• Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry)
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years carpentry experience
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
• Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
