Mortenson Construction is seeking a Carpenter Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship in formwork, finish carpentry, and drywall. You will study plans, measure materials, and contribute to concrete and rough carpentry tasks.

The role involves setting door frames, hanging doors, and installing hardware, plus detailed finish work across a variety of spaces. The position emphasizes teamwork, robust physical capability, and adherence to safety and union guidelines.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program is expected.
• Union-specific training is preferred.
• Read plans and visualize objects from drawings; operate carpentry equipment with precision.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Journeyman that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for installation of formwork, finish carpentry and drywall.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns, drywall)
• Set door frames, hang doors, and install hardware
• Complete finish carpentry tasks (toilet accessories, handrails, corner guards, partitions, lockers, cabinets, countertops, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, running trim)
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of apprenticeship program
• Union specific training
• Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, read plans, and operate equipment (table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems)
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
