Job summary

Uinta Brewing Co is seeking a Cellar Operator I in Salt Lake City to perform key cellar and brewing tasks. You will assist in raw material handling, fermentation control, sanitation, and quality assurance, coordinating with brewing staff to maintain product quality.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be 21 years of age or older.
• Background in wort production, cellar operations, general brewery work, all grain homebrewing, and related production or science coursework is preferred.
• Basic knowledge to learn brewing science in math, physics, chemistry, and microbiology.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment with multiple logic functions is required.
• Ability to read and understand scientific instruments and calculations.
• Understanding GMP and Food Safety standards.
• Flexible scheduling; day, evening, or weekend shifts possible.
• Strong work ethic; ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain brewing processes from yeast pitching to bottle conditioning.
• Manage sensory data, flow rates, temperatures, pH, density, and recipe additions.
• Monitor raw materials inventory and add materials per recipes.
• Collaborate with senior staff to improve efficiency and beer quality.
• Communicate process status with brewing and production teams.
• Perform daily cleaning of all brewing areas following 5S requirements.
• Follow Safety First guidelines per OSHA and NBB; handle chemicals safely.
• Conduct preventative and troubleshooting maintenance on process equipment.
• Participate in QA and R&D activities to improve products.
• Support process improvements and implement new ideas.
