Job summary

The Smith in Washington, DC is seeking a friendly, experienced Bartender to join our bar and dining room teams. You will welcome guests, craft cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, memorize recipes, and maintain a clean, well-stocked bar while delivering warm, professional service that makes guests want to return.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest at the bar and create an inviting environment.
• Communicate with guests in a warm, professional manner, ensuring they feel valued and well cared for.
• Work collaboratively with all Smith team members to support a seamless guest experience.
• Prepare, mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and dining room guests, following standard recipes.
• Maintain a strong understanding of responsible alcohol service and ensure compliance at all times.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, proactive service throughout their experience.
• Keep the bar area clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout service.
• Uphold all food safety, handling, and sanitation standards to ensure guest and team safety.
