Job summary

Hampton Inn / Homewood Suites Houston Downtown is seeking a Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks at the hotel bar, taking orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to brand standards. You will maintain bar cleanliness, manage inventory, assist with cash handling, and perform opening and closing procedures in compliance with safety and alcohol service regulations.

Experience is not strictly required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler’s certificate or ServSafe certification is required.
• Current TABC (TX) or RVSP (LA) is required.
• Education/Experience: Less than a high school education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Takes drink orders from customers and/or servers
• Mixes and serves drinks according to order specifications
• Serves wine and draught or bottled beer
• General cashier duties for the sale of bar food and beverage orders
• Requisitions for beer, wine, liquor and bar supplies
• Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display
• Prepares drink garnishments
• Replenishes bar supplies as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area
• Set up, breakdown, or securing bar display when opening and closing
• Serves patrons in compliance with company, brand, and TABC requirements
