Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a CPU Processor Performance Verification Engineer in Santa Clara, CA to own verification of performance features in a chip design, develop tests and performance benchmarks, and correlate results with models.

You will collaborate with RTL designers, OS and compiler teams, and software developers to identify bottlenecks and tune software for optimal CPU performance across silicon and software versions.

Qualifications

• Academic experience with performance modeling, processor verification, or RTL design.
• Academic understanding of digital logic design, CPU architecture, and microarchitecture.
• Experience in assembly, C/C++, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.

Responsibilities

• Verify performance features of the design and correlate with performance models.
• Develop tests in assembly, C/C++, or vectors for performance tuning and verification.
• Debug performance issues and optimize silicon performance.
• Benchmark and compare CPU performance across silicon/software versions.
• Present CPU performance results to multi-functional teams and stakeholders.
