Qualifications

Job Title: CPS Master Service Technician
Location: Nationwide - Needs to be within 2 hours of a major airport.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
This role involves extensive region wide travel. Monday-Friday travel is typical.
Pay Range: Starting pay will range between $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, salaried position. $3,000 Sign On Bonus!

Job Overview:
The Centrifugal Service Technician – Compression Technologies and Services – serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our centrifugal compressor product lines including Centac, Turbo Air models, and large reciprocating air compressors along with additional compressed air system components. This involves supervision of the installation and startup of new equipment; on-site major repairs; detailed troubleshooting and any other phase of compressor repair. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.


Responsibilities:
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs.

  1. Ensure the correct installation, maintenance, and field repair of the equipment manufactured and sold by Ingersoll Rand at the purchaser's location.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field installation and repair requirements of this equipment.
  3. Provide technical advice and be able to train customers, potential customers, field salesmen, and field service trainees.
  4. Diagnose problems and recommend corrective action in this unsupervised environment and submit clear, accurate records and/or oral reports to the manufacturing facility.
  5. Maintain a high degree of integrity in handling business affairs.
  6. Maintain proper written and oral communication skills to transfer information related to service work in a concise and logical manner.
  7. Submit detailed technical reports on each service call in legible fashion, suitable for billing customers.
  8. Submit accurate, detailed & timely expense account records along with timecards on a weekly basis. Maintain good financial records and practices to manage company business matters, credit cards, and if required, a company car.

Requirements:

  • Desired applicants will have 3 years+ of experience in troubleshooting industrial centrifugal compressors.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
  • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage) with NFPA or equivalent standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Core Competencies:

  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and other basic computer usage. Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) and network bases.
  • Basic vibration troubleshooting.
  • Maintain proper business travel practices in a cost-efficient manner.

  • Preferences:

  • Experience on compressed air systems/centrifugal technologies/solid controls background is a plus. While not required, those knowledgeable in the service, diagnosis, and startup of both rotary and centrifugal air compressors, including dryers, cooling towers, and filtration systems are encouraged to apply.
  • Customer service skills such as conflict resolution, communication, negotiation, etc.
  • Veterans/Active-Duty Military are encouraged to apply.

  • Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

  • This position is remotely based within the US with extensive nationwide travel. Monday through Friday travel is typical.
