Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a CPI Investigative Supervisor I/II in Decatur, TX. This role leads a CPI unit responsible for investigations and alternative responses, ensuring safety and permanency for children.

Responsibilities include staff development, supervisory decision-making, and collaboration with stakeholders. Requires strong CPS knowledge and ability to handle high‑profile cases with on‑call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years CPI/CPS casework experience, or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience supervising staff and managing investigations in a public social services setting.
• Knowledge of CPI/AR program and child welfare practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily unit operations, ensure timely contacts and safety assessments across cases.
• Conduct staff training, performance reviews, and manage overtime and leave in CAPPS.
• Hire, develop and supervise unit staff; provide case consultations and guidance on policy.
