Job summary

Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) in Texas seeks a dedicated CPS Family Based Safety Services Worker to support families after investigations. You will provide in-home services, develop safety plans, and coordinate with community resources to protect children.

Newly hired with a Master’s in Social Work may qualify for higher initial placement. The role includes extensive travel (up to 75%), a mobile work model, and opportunity for professional certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in social services or related field.
• MSW may qualify for higher start on hire per agency policy.
• Commitment to child safety and protective services responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations.
• Provides time-limited in-home services to families to protect children.
• Assess safety and take action to protect children; may involve removal from home.
• Develops treatment plans and coordinates with resources.
• Maintains documentation and case records.
• Works flexible hours and travels extensively within region.
