The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) invites applications for the CPS Family Based Safety Services Worker in Victoria, TX. This full-time role provides in-home protective services after investigations and partners with families, communities, and law enforcement to safeguard children.

New hires with a Master’s may qualify for a pay increase at hire. DFPS emphasizes professional development through its Certification Program to deepen expertise and advance careers.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel for child/family visits after 5pm.
• Ability to work irregular hours and be on call.
• Proficient with personal computer use.

Aufgaben

• Responds quickly in crisis situations.
• Provides time-limited in-home services to reduce risk and ensure child safety.
• Assesses child safety and may remove a child from the home as needed.
• Interacts with caretakers of abused/neglected children.
• Identifies resources and community supports for families.
• Helps families recognize and change behaviors leading to abuse/neglect.
• Maintains required documentation and forms accurately and timely.
