Job summary

Scioto County Department of Job and Family Services is seeking a permanent full-time Children Protective Services Caseworker. The role involves handling cases of suspected child abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and families in need of services.

The position requires frequent travel, after-hours on-call rotation, and provision of emergency services as required by the agency. A driver’s license and background checks are mandatory, with transcripts required for all post-secondary education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field is required or equivalent experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in any field with at least two years in a human services occupation is acceptable, or an associate degree in a human service-related field.
• Five years in a human services occupation may substitute for other degrees.
• Valid driver’s license, state minimum vehicle insurance, and acceptable driving record.
• Must pass Drug Screening and BCI/FBI Background Check.
• Transcript required for all post secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and responding to cases involving suspected child abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, dependency, and families in need of services.
• Position requires frequent travel and on-call rotation after hours.
• Provide emergency services according to agency requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related study

Bachelor’s degree in any field with 2+ years in human services

Associate degree in a human service-related study

5+ years in a human service-related occupation
