Texas Department of Family and Protective Services seeks a CPS Adoption Preparations Supervisor I/II to oversee a unit of adoption-prep caseworkers and clerical staff. The role emphasizes timely service plans, safety, permanency, and collaboration with courts and partners.

The position requires a bachelor's degree with CPS experience or equivalent, ability to travel, and effective communication skills. Regular travel and on-call duties are expected in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required or equivalent CPS experience.
• CPI/CPS certification or eligibility may be required for supervisory roles.
• Ability to travel up to 35% and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage unit operations to deliver CPS services and meet objectives.
• Select, train, and evaluate staff through field visits and performance reviews.
• Interpret policies to staff, clients, schools, and courts.
• Monitor unit performance and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and partners.
• Make casework decisions regarding removal/placement and coordinate with legal entities.
• Attend work regularly and be available for after-hours on-call as needed.
