Job summary

Trinity Health in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, package and sterilize medical-surgical supplies for hospital and affiliated facilities. You will unload, sort and deliver linen, maintain processing efficiency and ensure proper storage and distribution of materials to various areas, while responding to health care provider needs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, sterile processing training or equivalent, and willingness to obtain

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Sterile processing training preferred.
• Graduate of a sterile processing program required.
• Agreement to get certification in sterile processing within 1 year of hire.
• Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare and package medical–surgical supplies.
• Perform sterilization procedures and monitor storage and distribution of supplies.
• Unload, sort and deliver linen to departments.
• Maintain efficient processing flow and anticipate health care provider needs and patient care requirements.

Employment Type:Full timeShift:Evening ShiftDescription:Provides hospital and affiliated facilities with processed materials and equipment by executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization. Maintains efficient flow of processing procedures, through appropriate case set-up, anticipation of health care provider requests and patient care needs.

Performs tasks to decontaminate, prepare and package medical – surgical supplies. Unloads, sorts and picks up linen from semi-trailer and delivers to departments. Completes sterilization procedures, monitors processed storage and distribution of medical – surgical supplies to various areas.

Education

Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Sterile processingtraining

Related Experience

Minimum: Graduate of a sterile processing program

One year of general work experience

Agreement to get certification in sterile processing within 1 year of hire

Preferred: Certification in Central Sterile Processing

Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum: Basic computer skills

Preferred: Familiar with Microsoft office programs

80hrs per pp- 3p-1130p variable. on call

weekends and Holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA
