Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a motivated Medical Coder (CPC) to join our Central Billing team at the corporate office. You will code medical documentation for insurance claims using CPT/HCPCS/ICD codes and ensure accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines, while collaborating with clinical staff and the billing department.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Commitment to a high level of customer service.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy.
• Able to work independently but embrace teamwork and flexibility.
• CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes to procedures and diagnoses using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD codes; knowledge of HCC coding.
• Ensure codes are current, accurate, and properly sequenced per regulations with high accuracy.
• Stay updated on payer guidelines and coding changes.
• Follow up with providers for unclear or insufficient documentation and coordinate with clinical staff as needed.
• Conduct chart audits to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness; provide education to providers.
• Monitor and reconcile voucher reports for missed charges.
• Allocate payments in the system and complete processes as directed.
• Prepare quarterly coding graphs.
• Collaborate with billing to ensure timely claim resolution.
