Qualifications

• Two years of coding/ billing experience or equivalent education.
• Proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes, minor procedures, and HCPCS codes from provider documentation.
• Assign CPT-4, ICD-10-CM codes and modifiers.
• Research coding/billing issues and advise on best practices.
