Cox Conserves’ Data Analyst Intern role offers hands-on experience supporting sustainability initiatives. You will work with the Data Analysis Manager and Sr. Director, Environmental Sustainability to learn how data drives strategic decisions.

Designed for students or recent graduates, the internship provides mentorship, training, and exposure to real-world sustainability data challenges, with potential for full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Coursework or experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, or data visualization.
• Familiarity with SQL and/or Python (coursework or personal projects).
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Drive proof-of-concept AI projects to enrich the team's AI toolkit and catalyze AI solution development.
• Assist in executing recurring jobs to support data pipeline, QA, and reporting workstreams under supervision.
• Support the automation of manual tasks to improve efficiency and quality, leveraging AI when appropriate.
• Participate in the design and development of future state data pipelines, learning new technologies as needed.
• Help simplify and standardize internal reports for use across the organization.
• Learn to identify data quality issues and assist in resolving them, including presenting findings to team members.
• Contribute to the documentation of the data pipeline, QA, and reporting processes for business use.
• Prioritize and deliver assigned work using a logical and methodical process.

The sustainability space is rapidly evolving, and businesses need strong data and analytics to support their sustainability goals. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting Cox Conserves' sustainability initiatives. You'll work closely with the Data Analysis Manager and Sr. Director, Environmental Sustainability, learning how data analysis drives strategic decision‑making.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Drive proof‑of‑concept AI projects to enrich the team's AI toolkit and catalyze AI solution development.

• Assist in executing recurring jobs to support data pipeline, quality assurance (QA), and reporting workstreams under supervision.

• Support the automation of manual tasks to improve efficiency and quality, leveraging AI when appropriate.

• Participate in the design and development of future state data pipelines, learning new technologies as needed.

• Help simplify and standardize internal reports for use across the organization.

• Learn to identify data quality issues and assist in resolving them, including presenting findings to team members.

• Contribute to the documentation of the data pipeline, QA, and reporting processes for business use.

Day‑to‑day duties may include:

• Assist with recurring QA jobs and analyze output with guidance.

• Support investigation and resolution of data quality issues.

• Help maintain dashboards and identify modification needs as data sources evolve.

• Participate in tool and platform migrations of existing solutions.

• Work with internal and external data sources to support environmental data collection and quality.

• Ensure data/reporting complies with applicable environmental reporting standards (e.g., GHG, GRI) and company policies.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

• Coursework or experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, or data visualization (class projects, internships, etc.).

• Familiarity with SQL and/or Python (coursework or personal projects).

• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Preferred:

• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) through coursework or projects.

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Microsoft Fabric) is a plus.

• Interest in sustainability metrics, reporting, or environmental data.

• Familiarity with sustainability regulations or standards is a plus.

Intern/Co‑Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full‑time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full‑time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full‑time employment at a specified time.

USD 24.23 - 36.35 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $24.23 - $36.35/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
