Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Blackburn. The role involves supervising classes when teachers are absent, delivering prepared materials and ensuring continuity of learning in a positive environment.

This position targets graduates or career changers and requires strong communication, DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain), and the ability to engage with students aged 11–16.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage with young people aged 11-16.
• Confident classroom presence and behaviour management.
• Flexibility to work across different subjects.
• Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students on task.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour.
• Support students with their learning and answer questions where appropriate.
• Take accurate registers and report concerns to staff.
• Assist with general school duties as required.
• Follow school policies and procedures at all times.
