Job summary

Chatham Financial seeks a Covenant Data Specialist on its Investment Management team to ensure accurate covenant information for institutional real estate investors. You will review loan documents, interpret covenants, and translate legal language into a standardized data structure while quality-checking data across portfolios.

You will collaborate with data, implementation, and advisory teams, identify data-quality issues, and contribute to improvements in procedures and standards to maintain

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting commercial loan documents or other complex legal/financial agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate information in context.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial real estate loan agreements, amendments, guaranties, promissory notes, and other financing documents to identify covenants.
• Interpret covenant provisions, definitions, calculation requirements, thresholds, testing periods, cure provisions, and exceptions.
• Translate varied legal language into Chatham's standardized covenant data structure and apply data conventions.
• Perform detailed quality-control reviews of covenant data for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and departures from data standards and provide actionable feedback.
• Partner with teammates to resolve questions involving loan terms and covenant interpretation.
• Share knowledge and reinforce consistent covenant interpretation and data-quality practices across the team.
