Job summary

Hamilton County Juvenile Court in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Court Security Officer at the Hillcrest location. This full-time role provides security and customer service across multiple court departments with a 40-hour work week.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience, plus a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain OPOTA Bailiff certification on hire. Background screening is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of related work experience required.
• Must possess and maintain auto liability insurance.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must be able to obtain OPOTA Basic Bailiff certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides security and safety anywhere assigned within Juvenile Court.
• Provides customer service support and/or direct care monitoring of youth in various court departments and buildings on a temporary, as-needed and/or rotation basis.
• Responds to resistance from individuals who are not following court orders or who are at risk to harm others or themselves.
• Transports juveniles and adult prisoners to and from Juvenile courtrooms at 800 Broadway.
• Transports juveniles between 800 Broadway, 2020 Auburn Avenue, 1000 Main Street.
• Provides supervision to prisoners within the court holding facilities.
• Completes all daily logs, incident reports and any other required paperwork.
• Assists with Contempt docket at 800 Broadway and with arrests; participates in extradition of juvenile detainees.
