Job summary

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Court Security Officer to maintain order and safety in the courtroom and courthouse. You will escort defendants, transport papers, and support judges and court staff in daily proceedings.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus one of several approved credentials or experience options. A pre-employment agility test is required and strict security standards apply.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must pass a physical agility test as part of the onboarding process.
• Multiple paths accepted: POST certification, basic police academy, college credits, EMT/paramedic/firefighter, military service, or guard/reserve experience.

Responsibilities

• Arranges seating and prepares courtroom for hearings; maintains order and safety in the court.
• Transports documents and escorts defendants and witnesses as needed.
• Provides security in courtroom, jury room, and surrounding areas; monitors for disturbances.
