Job summary

Hamilton County Government is seeking a security‑oriented professional to join the Juvenile Detention Center team. You will oversee detainee safety, manage bookings/releases, and maintain comprehensive records and reports.

The role requires knowledge of state and federal guidelines, CPR and First Aid certification, and a valid driver’s license. Overtime and rotating shifts are possible in this essential position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field plus valid driver's license.
• Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field plus valid driver's license.
• High school diploma with at least 1 year direct experience in security or related field; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees safety and well-being of detainees; handles booking and release responsibilities; maintains records and reports.
• Transports and escorts detainees to court, medical appointments, and other trips; provides basic care and monitoring.
• Investigates incidents and provides written reports; dispenses medically-approved medications; conducts searches and inspections.
• Performs other related duties and works rotating shifts.
