Job summary

Come work in Ludington, Michigan as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Mason County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. This full-time, in-person role offers opportunities to appear in court on a wide range of criminal matters, with potential advancement to Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney over time.

Under the Prosecuting Attorney, you will review investigations, file complaints, present cases in District and Circuit Court, and handle Juvenile and Probate matters as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Michigan.
• Criminal law and litigation experience are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Present criminal cases in the District and Circuit Courts, and handle Juvenile Court matters.
• Appear in Probate Court when required and manage criminal pleadings and hearings.
• Conduct preliminary, evidentiary and mental health hearings; assist with plea negotiations.
• Coordinate with victims, witnesses and law enforcement; participate in trial preparation.
