Job summary

The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) is seeking a Courtroom Clerk (General Bench Floater Clerk) to support multiple judges and courtrooms in Portland, OR. The role involves handling case records, swearing witnesses, and preparing legal documents while serving the public with professionalism.

You will work with the judicial team to manage dockets, schedule hearings, verify pleadings, and maintain logs. A bilingual skills test may apply for a 5% language-ability allowance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in a moderately complex office setting handling financial, administrative, or legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Swear in witnesses and record proceedings.
• Prepare orders, judgments, and court documents.
• Update records in the electronic case management system.
• Presently assist juries, oversee jury logistics and courtroom operations.
• Assist judges and clerks with docket management, hearings, and scheduling.
