Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and high school diploma or GED required.
• One year of security work, law enforcement, military, or equivalent training/experience.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, walk or stand for several hours; differentiate shapes and colors on a monitor.
• Working knowledge of Sheriff’s Office policies and applicable laws.
• CJIS Security Policy background checks and drug testing.
• Ability to alert law enforcement personnel when needed.

Responsibilities

• Daytime Security Technician role in the courthouse.
• Process civilians, court and county employees entering the County Courthouse to prevent prohibited items and weapons.
• Provide directions and assistance to citizens inside the courthouse.
• Operate security equipment including magnetometer and x-ray machine.
• Write security reports and related documentation.
• Perform other duties as required.
