Job summary

Frederick County Government seeks a Deputy Sheriff Lateral for the Courthouse Security unit. You will provide security to the courthouse, visitors, and staff, enforce court-related laws, and supervise custody as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold MPCTC or equivalent law enforcement certification.
• U.S. citizenship and 21+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to pass background, physical, and polygraph tests.

Responsibilities

• Provide security to the Frederick County Courthouse, visitors, and staff.
• Enforce laws related to court operations and security.
• Arrest and cite individuals as needed and supervise prisoners in custody.
• Coordinate prisoner transports and movements between court locations.
• Support court personnel and judges with security and order.
