Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus is seeking a Court Security Officer Bailiff to protect judges, staff, and the public. You will screen entrants, monitor surveillance, and respond to emergencies, following security procedures and reporting incidents.

This full-time, first-shift role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, dependability, and a professional appearance. Training is provided; the job emphasizes safe courthouse operations and interaction with a diverse public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate a PC and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to solve practical everyday problems.
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance; good judgment.

Responsabilités

• Screen vendors, visitors, employees, and packages entering the Court facility using monitoring equipment and access-control procedures.
• Investigate suspicious persons or activity and take appropriate action.
• Monitor cameras and radio traffic; respond to alarms and emergency calls.
• Prepare, review and log security incident reports and share with staff.
• Escort deliveries after screening and maintain security of court spaces.
• Follow procedures; participate in ongoing training; maintain equipment and ID supplies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned and support court operations as needed.
