Job summary

Hamilton County Juvenile Court is seeking a Court Security Officer to provide security and customer service across court locations. The role requires monitoring youth, responding to incidents, and transporting detainees between facilities and courtrooms.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and must obtain OPOTA Basic Bailiff certification. Background screening is mandatory, with exposure to various shifts and indoor/outdoor duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related work experience required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must possess and maintain auto liability insurance.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must obtain OPOTA Basic Bailiff certification upon hire.
• Must pass background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provides security and safety anywhere assigned within Juvenile Court.
• Provides customer service support and/or direct care monitoring of youth in various court departments and buildings.
• Responds appropriately to resistance from individuals not following court orders.
• Transports juveniles and adult prisoners to and from Juvenile courtrooms.
• Transports between multiple court facilities as needed.
• Supervises prisoners within court holding facilities.
• Completes daily logs, incident reports and required paperwork.
• Assists with Contempt docket and other court duties as needed.
• Assists Juvenile Probation Officers with arrests; participates in extraditions.
• Works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies.
